Dinopark in Antalya is an engaging family plan for those spending their holidays on the Turkish Mediterranean coast. It is presented as a proposal that combines dinosaur-based children’s leisure with a touch of science—specifically paleontology—which is always a favorite among the little ones. In the following lines, we tell you more about this theme park.
Dinopark in Antalya: What It Consists Of
Dinopark is a dinosaur theme park located a few kilometers south of Antalya, one of Turkey’s most popular sun and beach destinations. Opened in 2012, it covers an area of approximately 3 hectares, making its dimensions manageable for a day of family leisure.
Taking advantage of the popularity that the world of dinosaurs has gained among children in recent years, thanks to films like Jurassic Park and Jurassic World, this theme park is an interesting proposal for all audiences. Spread throughout the site are more than thirty life-size or scale reproductions of these ancient animals, which are animatronic: featuring moving parts for greater realism. Among them, the most famous ones like the Stegosaurus, Velociraptor, Allosaurus, or Tyrannosaurus Rex are all present, each with its own information board to learn more about them. Smaller and gentler specimens can even accommodate children on their backs.
The park features different areas, as we will see below, and has its own restaurant with a menu for all ages: kebab, salads, pasta, or burgers for a quick meal between activities. The souvenir shop allows you to buy mementos of the day, such as T-shirts, books, and other gifts.
Areas and Activities at Dinopark
In addition to walking through the grounds among realistic dinosaurs, Dinopark features several leisure spaces that will entertain every member of the family. For example, it has a children’s pool, a consistently refreshing and relaxing stop during the summer season. However, if you are looking for the opposite—excitement and the adrenaline of fear—the park also features a horror room, known as the Deep Fear tunnel, where scares are guaranteed.
A small fenced enclosure with farm animals and a chicken coop offers direct contact with real animals. Trampolines, climbing walls, and children’s games provide pure fun. For those who want to feel like paleontologists for a day, they can visit the excavation zone set up for searching for dinosaur fossils.
All of this is set within a site full of trees, which not only helps recreate the environment in which the park’s dinosaurs lived but also creates ample shaded areas, making it a true climate refuge on the hottest days.
